PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic capacitance type occupant detecting sensor that can restrain the influence of electric noise on vehicle occupant identification and expansion of installation space and an increase in the number of components.SOLUTION: An electrostatic capacitance type occupant detecting sensor having an identifying unit 24 that detects vehicle occupants on the basis of a first electrostatic capacitance comprises a guard electrode 13 arranged on the seat bottom side of a main electrode 11 and given a reference potential and a noise electrode 14 arranged on the seat bottom side of the guard electrode 13. A voltage applying unit 21 applies a detected voltage to the noise electrode 14; a current detecting unit 22 detects a noise current, which is a current flowing to the noise electrode 14; and a capacitance calculating unit 23 calculates the first electrostatic capacitance on the basis of the detected voltage, a main current and the noise current.

    【課題】乗員判別への電気ノイズの影響を抑制するとともに、設置スペースの増大及び部品点数の増大を抑制することができる静電容量式乗員検知センサを提供する。【解決手段】本発明は、第一静電容量に基づいて乗員を判別する判別部24を備える静電容量式乗員検知センサであって、静電センサ1は、メイン電極11のシート底面側に配置され基準電位が与えられたガード電極13と、ガード電極13のシート底面側に配置されたノイズ電極14と、を有し、電圧印加部21は、ノイズ電極14に検出電圧を印加し、電流検出部22は、ノイズ電極14に流れる電流であるノイズ電流を検出し、容量算出部23は、検出電圧、メイン電流、及びノイズ電流に基づいて第一静電容量を算出する。【選択図】図3
