PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steer-by-wire type steering device which performs the redundancy of the fastening determination means of a clutch, and can prevent incongruity such as steering capture or the like resulting from the determination of the erroneous fastening of the clutch.SOLUTION: This steer-by-wire type steering device comprises a turning device 6, a clutch, and an electronic control unit 18 which can control a fastening state and a release state of the clutch so as to be switchable, and controls the turning device 6 on the basis of a command signal of a steering angle when the clutch is in the release state. The electronic control unit 18 has first and second fastening determination means 20, 21 for determining whether or not the clutch is in the fastening state. The electronic control unit 18 has on-abnormality switching means 26 which determines whether or not the clutch is in the fastening state by the other fastening determination means when an abnormality occurs in a function of at least one fastening detection means out of the first and second fastening determination means 20, 21.

    【課題】 クラッチの締結判定手段の冗長化を図り、クラッチ誤締結の判定に起因するステアリングのとられ等の違和感を防止し得るステアバイワイヤ式操舵装置を提供する。【解決手段】 このステアバイワイヤ式操舵装置は、転舵装置6と、クラッチと、このクラッチの締結・解除状態を切換え制御可能で、且つ、クラッチが解除状態にあるとき、操舵角の指令信号に基づいて転舵装置6を制御する電子制御ユニット18とを備える。電子制御ユニット18は、クラッチが締結状態にあるか否かを判定する第1,第2の締結判定手段20,21を有する。電子制御ユニット18は、第1,第2の締結判定手段20,21におけるいずれか一つの締結判定手段の機能に異常が発生したとき、他の締結判定手段によりクラッチが締結状態にあるか否かを判定する異常時切替手段26を有する。【選択図】 図2
