PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more improve the safety driving technology of a driver by evaluating a backward checking operation to be performed by a driver when turning right or left to travel or making lane change right or left or the like more precisely than a conventional manner, and providing a feedback to the driver based on the evaluation result with more suitable content in a vehicle operation evaluation system.SOLUTION: When a backward checking scene comes to an own vehicle, an image processing part 20 detects the predetermined backward checking operation of a driver and the eye-opening state in the backward checking operation on the basis of the image of a driver photographing camera 22, and grade-evaluates the driving behavior of the driver in the backward checking scene on the basis of the detection result.

    【課題】 車両運転評価システムにおいて、右左折走行時や右左車線変更時等に運転者が行うべき後方確認動作についての評価を、従来よりも詳細に行うことを可能にするとともに、その評価結果に基づく運転者へのフィードバックをより適した内容で行い、運転者の安全運転技術のより一層の向上を可能とする。【解決手段】 自車両に後方確認シーンが到来した場合に、画像処理部20が運転者撮影カメラ22の画像に基づいて、運転者の予め定められた後方確認動作と、その後方確認動作の際の開眼状態を検出し、それらの検出結果に基づいて、当該後方確認シーンにおける運転者の運転挙動を採点評価する。【選択図】図1
