PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bead apex rubber composition for high-performance tire which can suppress a change in rigidity due to its running while obtaining excellent driving stability performance and damping performance, and a high-performance tire having a bead apex made using the rubber composition.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a bead apex rubber composition for a high-performance tire that comprises natural rubber, and hydrogenated styrenic thermoplastic elastomer. In the rubber component 100 mass%, the natural rubber content is 60-95 mass%, the hydrogenated styrenic thermoplastic elastomer content is 5-40 mass%.
