A jet engine exhaust assembly 20 comprises a double-walled exhaust duct 22 comprising an inner wall defining the inner profile of the duct and an outer wall spaced apart from the outer surface of the inner wall to define a cooling space 21 therebetween. The double-walled exhaust duct 20 is a structural load bearing component. The exhaust assembly may be connected to a framework of a fuselage. The framework may be a web with apertures (figures 4 and 5). The exhaust duct may comprise a jet pipe and a nozzle, The nozzle may be non-axisymmetric and the pipe may be axisymmetric (figure 3a). There may be a transition pipe between the nozzle and the jet pipe, A controllable level of fluid cooling may be provided to the space between the inner and outer walls.
