An electric vehicle (EV) charger circuit breaker system 1 comprises a controller 7 and a charger circuit breaker 41. The controller has an electrical input, a computer processor, and an output. The electrical input receives a presented voltage, indicative of: the integrity of a live conductor L1-L3 and/or the voltage on the live conductor; the integrity of a neutral conductor N; or the integrity of an earth conductor E of an EV charger power supply. The processor evaluates the presented voltage to determine whether it indicates a fault of the relevant conductor. The evaluation uses at least one reference voltage also received by the processor. The output sends a control signal to the charger circuit breaker where a fault is determined, whereupon an EV charger 43 is electrically isolated from the EV charger power supply in response to receiving the control signal. The processor may determine whether the presented voltage indicates an integrity fault in the live or neutral conductor by further referencing two reference voltages, one each supplied by two additional live conductors as part of a three-phase EV charger power supply. An integrity fault of the conductor is indicated by a characteristic combination of values of the present voltage and two reference voltages not otherwise present.
