A method comprising identifying a roadway lane 205 direction based on vehicle sensor data indicating one or more of a traffic sign 225, a direction of a parked vehicle 210, and a marking 205 on a surface of the roadway lane; determining that a trajectory of a vehicle differs from the roadway lane direction; and actuating a vehicle component. The direction of the parked vehicle may be determined based on at least one of a rear-facing feature (220) and a front-facing feature (215) of the parked vehicle; the direction of the traffic sign may be determined based on a comparison of a predetermined image of the traffic sign and a current image of the traffic sign; and the vehicle component may be a hazard light. The vehicle component may be a transmitter and the method may further comprise sending a message to an owner or driver of the vehicle indicating that the trajectory of the vehicle differs from the roadway lane direction.
