A system 100 comprising a bladder 108 (e.g. air bag) in a vehicle seat 102, a conduit 114 connecting a fluid pump 112 to the bladder 108, a branch element 118 connecting the conduit 114 to a pressure sensor 122, and a controller 124 (e.g. computing device) having a processor and a memory. The processor executes memory storing instructions to determine occupant presence in the vehicle seat according to two or more data (e.g. first and second pressure values) received from the pressure sensor. The first pressure value may be stored upon an initiating event (e.g. vehicle door being opened or unlocked). Occupant presence may be determined when the second pressure value exceeds the first pressure value by a predetermined threshold. The controller may detect occupant absence from the seat when the second pressure value equals or is less than the first pressure value. When the controller determines occupant presence in the vehicle seat, the processor may actuate the vehicle seat to move from a rearward position to a forward position and/or actuate a steering wheel, mirrors or window. The system may comprise a switch 126 to actuate the fluid pump to inflate or deflate the bladder.
