A water closet enclosure (10), for installation within a larger vehicle body such as, for example a train carriage. A first shell member 12 is shaped to provide a base and a first plurality of side wall portions 12A-12D upstanding from the base and terminating at a first peripheral edge (20). A second shell member 14 is shaped to provide a second plurality of side wall portions 14A-14D terminating at a second peripheral edge 22 such that when the second shell member 14 is seated atop the first shell member 12 the water closet enclosure 10 is defined. Also disclosed is a method of installation aboard a train comprising the steps of locating the first shell member 12 within a vehicle, providing the second shell member 14 and aligning peripheral edges 20, 22 such that the second shell 14 is located atop the first shell member 12. Preferable the first peripheral edge 20 is spaced from the base 18 at least a quarter or a third of the total height of the enclosure.
