The invention relates to a method for monitoring the DC charging of a vehicle battery powering electrical devices and temporarily coupled to a power source supplying a DC charging current defined by a current set point. This method comprises a step (10-50) in which an information item representative of a difference between a first measured voltage, representative of a charging voltage supplied by the power source, and a second voltage measured at the battery terminals is compared to a selected first threshold, and, when this information item is above the first threshold for a selected duration, at least one new current set point, lower than the preceding current set point, is transmitted to the power source, so that it supplies at least one new charging current lower than a preceding charging current.
