Environmental control systems of an aircraft includes a condenser (206), an expansion valve (208), an evaporator (210), and a compressor (202) rotationally driven by a motor (304) having integrated magnetic bearings, wherein a working fluid (204) is passed through the condenser, the expansion valve, the evaporator, the compressor, and back to the condenser.
