A hydraulic device 1 including a double acting hydraulic cylinder 15 in which a push chamber 23 has a pressure connection for pressurising the push chamber by a pressure line 27 and a pull chamber 22 which has a first pull connection 241 which is fluidly connected to a suction line 26 for discharging hydraulic fluid. A flow restrictor 70 is positioned in the suction line. The hydraulic device comprises a drive unit 10 which is fluidly connected by a main pressure line 271 to the pressure connection 25 of the push chamber and fluidly connected by a bypass line 272 to a second pull connection 242 of the pull chamber. The bypass line 272 is arranged in parallel with the main pressure line 271. A pressure operated normally open de-aerator valve 4 is positioned in the bypass line 272 for discharging an air volume out of the pull chamber.
