A method and apparatus for stopping a device having a hoisting mechanism, and a crane, an electronic device and a computer-readable medium. The method for stopping a device comprises : acquiring, in real time, position offset information of a hoisting handle (101) of a device; when the position offset information satisfies a trigger condition, generating a displacement change rate according to the position offset information; comparing the displacement change rate with a preset threshold value, so as to generate a stopping control instruction; and controlling, according to the stopping control instruction, a loading system of the device to perform deceleration and stopping. By means of the configurations, the aim of fast stopping control can be realized simply by means of a hoisting handle of a device, and when emergency stopping is required, the requirements for the reaction time of a driver are reduced, and the safety of the device is improved.
