The disclosure relates to an on-board passenger assistance system (100) for a vehicle (1000), comprising a passenger monitoring system (102) configured to monitor a passenger, the passenger monitoring system (102) comprising a passenger monitoring unit (112) configured to generate image data of the monitored passenger, an identifying module (104) configured to identify needs of the monitored passenger based on facial expressions shown in the generated image data, the identifying module (104) comprising a neural network being trained to identify the needs of a passenger based on facial expressions, a planning module (106) configured to plan routes based on maps and/or traffic to support addressing of the needs being identified by the identifying module (104), and a suggesting module (108) configured to provide suggestions and/or information to address the needs being identified by the identifying module (104) to a user via a human-machine interface unit (114). Further, the disclosure also related so a vehicle (1000) comprising such on-board passenger assistance system (100) as well as to an on-board passenger assistance method (130).
