A magnetic torque sensor device measures a torque applied to the steering shaft. The torque sensor device comprises a sensor for detecting an uncompensated measurement signal (T). The torque sensor device comprises a computing unit, which is designed to provide a first parameter and a second parameter for compensation of the uncompensated measurement signal (T) and to calculate a compensated measurement signal (T*) based on the uncompensated measurement signal (T) and the two parameters and to provide this compensated measurement signal (T) as the at least one input variable.
