A system for mounting a gas turbine engine to a pylon (202) and for detecting a failure within the system, the gas turbine engine comprising a first case (210), is disclosed. In various embodiments, the system includes a first mount (214) connecting the first case to the pylon; and a first sensor (329) configured to detect a first relative motion between the first case and the first mount.
