The purpose of the present invention is to provide a failure part specification support system that enables a worker to make appropriate decision to complete a diagnosis by determining whether or not there are any remaining items having association with a derivative symptom and having a high risk of changing a diagnosis result among items that have not yet been investigated by the worker. Provided is a failure part specification support system which presents an investigation procedure for a target asset when abnormality occurs in the target asset and acquires an investigation result and a decision result by the worker to support specification and diagnosis of a failure part of the target asset. The failure part specification support system is characterized by comprising: an investigation procedure generation unit that instructs a failure part specification procedure to the worker using failure knowledge data storing knowledge including a failure of the target asset; and a diagnosis validity determination unit that determines whether or not any important uninvestigated item remains before a diagnosis completion processing, and is characterized in that, when the worker performs a failure part specification work based on the failure knowledge data, the system confirms validity of selecting the failure part and completing the failure investigation, to thereby realize investigation without an oversight and improve reliability of the failure investigation result.
