The invention relates to a method for parking a vehicle (1) in a perpendicular parking space (3), during which the vehicle (1) is parked fully autonomously in a first direction of travel (P1) from a starting point (SP) located outside the perpendicular parking space (3) into the perpendicular parking space (3) in one movement, characterized in that the perpendicular parking space (3) is sensed with a sensing unit (5) of the vehicle (1), and after the sensing the vehicle (1) is manoeuvred fully autonomously to the starting point (SP) with one driving manoeuvre which is carried out in a direction of travel (P2) which is opposed to the first direction of travel (P1). The invention also relates to a parking assistance system (4) and to a vehicle (1).
