Disclosed is a three-dimensional positioning system for a railway vehicle, wherein the system is applied to a railway station, and the system comprises: a vehicle number recognition sub-system used for sending vehicle information of each railway vehicle to a monitoring sub-system; a three-dimensional range finder used for obtaining distance information of an object to be positioned stopping on each track line, and sending the distance information to the monitoring sub-system; and the monitoring sub-system used, for each track line, for using information to be monitored corresponding to the track line to determine a standard length of the object to be positioned stopping on the track line, and based on the standard length and the distance information of the object to be positioned on the track line, calculating a railway mileage coordinate of the object to be positioned on the track line, wherein the information to be monitored corresponding to the track line is obtained by means of integrating various pieces of vehicle information, in the vehicle information, which are detected at the same time and have the number of the track line. Application of the embodiment of the present invention improves precision in positioning the object to be positioned.
