A control device (DC) equips a vehicle (V) comprising a brake pedal associated with a pressure, an energy storage means (MS1) having a state of charge, and a heat engine (MT) and a non-heat-type driving machine (MM) respectively providing torques for at least one drivetrain (T1), consuming fuel and stored energy respectively. This device (DC) comprises control means (MC) that trigger, when the vehicle (V) is travelling with the brake pedal and accelerator pedal of same not pressed down, early operation of the heat engine (MT) or delayed operation of the non-heat-type driving machine (MM) in order to provide, at a predefined time, a predefined torque in order to provide a creeping speed function, depending on the current pressure and depending on whether the current state of charge is lower than or higher than a predefined state of charge threshold.
