The present invention relates to a trailer mode estimation method (100) which allows for determining, from the load amount of the rear suspension of the tow truck (C), whether the trailer (D) is in detachment or unloading mode in heavy commercial vehicles with air suspension (S) in the rear axle used as tow trucks (C).
