The invention relates to a method for controlling voice-controlled operating interfaces (12) in motor vehicles, comprising the following steps: a) determining an expected position of a motor vehicle within a predefined future time interval (T), b) determining static and/or dynamic stress sources at the expected position, c) assigning at least one stress value to at least one of the determined static and/or dynamic stress sources, d) determining an accumulated stress value from the at least one stress value and/or adopting at least one stress value as the accumulated stress value, e) recognizing a mental stress situation of a user of a voice-controlled operating interface (12) in the predefined future time interval (T), wherein the mental stress situation is recognized if the accumulated stress value at the expected position and/or in the predefined future time interval exceeds a predefined threshold value, and f) adapting an interaction between a voice-controlled operating interface (12) and a user if a stress situation has been recognized.
