This manual transmission includes a connection changeover mechanism which selectively realizes an "IN connection state" in which the output shaft of an electric motor is connected to the input shaft of the transmission in a power transmissible manner and an "OUT connection state" in which the output shaft of the electric motor is connected to the output shaft of the transmission in a power transmissible manner. When a shift lever is in the neutral position or in the shift completion position of a gear stage (3-rd through 5-th gears) other than a specific gear stage (EV gear or 2-nd gear), the transmission is maintained in the IN connection state. When the shift lever moves from the neutral position to the shift completion position of the specific gear stage (EV gear or 2-nd gear) (or vice versa), the changeover from the IN connection state to the OUT connection state (or vice versa) is performed. Thus, there is provided a manual transmission for an HV-MT vehicle which can make a driver less likely to sense a shock generated as a result of changeover between the IN connection state and the OUT connection state.
