The invention relates to a pressure-relief valve for releasing an excess pressure of a gas, in particular CO2, out of a vehicle refrigerant circuit in a controlled manner, comprising - a valve body (1) which has a gas inlet (11), a gas outlet (12), and a flow channel (13) which connects the gas inlet (11) and the gas outlet (12), - a sealing piston (2) which is movably arranged in the flow channel (13), in particular in the axis of the valve body (1), relative to a sealing surface (14), in particular a conical sealing surface, arranged on the valve body (1) and which has a conical piston sealing surface (21) that rests against the sealing surface (14) in the closed state and closes the flow channel (13), - an adjustment screw (4) for adjusting the opening pressure, said adjustment screw being arranged in the valve body (1) downstream of the sealing piston (2) in the flow channel (13), and - a spring (3), in particular a compression spring, which is arranged between the sealing piston (2) and the adjustment screw (4) and which loads the sealing piston (2) against the sealing surface (14) by means of a closing force, wherein - the sealing piston (2), the valve body (1), and the spring (3) are designed such that when a defined pressure level is exceeded at the gas inlet (11), the sealing piston (2) is moved against the spring (3) in the opening direction and a passage cross-section for the gas is released, and when a pressure level is undershot, the sealing piston is moved out of the open state and back to the closed state. The piston sealing surface (21) has a piston angle (α) ranging between 26° and 35°, in particular 26.5° and 28.5°, and the sealing surface (14) of the valve body (1) has a valve body angle (β) ranging between 27° and 38°, in particular 30° and 31°. The ratio of the valve body angle (β) to the piston angle (α) is 15/14 ≤ β/α ≤ 124/108.
