The advancing mechanism comprises a traveling mechanism and a walking mechanism, the traveling mechanism is used for driving the frame to move in water, and the walking mechanism is used for walking and moving underwater; the cable laying mechanism comprises a gully assembly, a detection assembly and a cable pressing assembly, the gully assembly can spray water so as to spray out a cable trench at the water bottom, the detection assembly is used for detecting the position of the cable, and the cable pressing assembly is used for pressing the cable into the cable trench; the driving mechanism comprises a hydraulic system and an electric power system, the electric power system is used for supplying energy to the hydraulic system, and the hydraulic system is used for driving the traveling mechanism, the walking mechanism, the gully assembly, the detection assembly and the cable pressing assembly; the advancing mechanism, the cable laying mechanism and the driving mechanism are installed on the frame. By means of the underwater cable laying robot, the purpose of directly laying cables on the seabed can be achieved.
