Methods and systems are provided for adaptively determining a position of a moving object relative to a target object. In some examples, there is provided a method for adaptively determining a position of a moving object relative to a target object, the method comprising: in response to a request message comprising position information of the target object, identifying a latitude and a longitude of the position of the target object; identifying position information of a moving object near the target object based on the identified latitude and longitude of the target object; and adaptively determining a position of the moving object relative to the target object based on the identified position information.
