The invention belongs to the field of electric vehicle charging, and particularly discloses a charging station and a charging control method thereof, and the charging station comprises N charging piles, M parallel switches and a power bus, each parallel switch comprises: four ports; a first port of one parallel switch is connected with an output end of one charging pile, a third port is connected with one charging gun corresponding to the charging pile, and a second port is connected with the power bus; when the first port of the parallel switch is connected with the second port and the second port is connected with the third port, the parallel switch works in a first mode; when the first port is connected with the fourth port, and the fourth port is connected with the third port, the device works in a second mode; when the first port is connected with the fourth port, and the second port is connected with the third port, the device works in a third mode; and when the first port is connected with the second port and the third port is connected with the fourth port, working in a fourth mode. According to the invention, the charging requirements of electric vehicles corresponding to different vehicle types and different capacities can be met.
