Techniques are discussed herein for determining that a reference trajectory does not cross or potential collide with an object. A trajectory generated by a host computing device of a vehicle may be used to select or determine a reference trajectory followed by the vehicle. An auxiliary computing device of the vehicle may identify a current offset from the reference trajectory, and utilize the offset and a kinematic model to determine a trajectory that the vehicle is predicted to drive back to the reference trajectory. The verification of the reference trajectory may be based on predicted collision data determined using the tracker trajectory. The predicted collision data may be used to control the vehicle to follow a reference trajectory or a stop trajectory.
