The invention relates to an airfoil (40) comprising a leading front edge le, a trailing rear edge te, a midline ml and a thickness t. The airfoil further comprises: a forward portion (42) having a thickness that increases rearward from the leading edge up to a maximum thickness tmax; and a rear portion (44) having a thickness that increases forward from the trailing edge up to the maximum thickness. The airfoil further includes a middle portion (46) interposed between the forward portion and the aft portion, the middle portion (46) having a thickness constant and equal to a maximum thickness. Finally, the airfoil further comprises at least one forward part (48) and aft part (50) assembled. The front portion is defined by the front member and the rear portion is defined by the rear member. The invention also relates to an aerodynamic surface (54) comprising two airfoils according to the invention and to a method for defining such airfoils.
