The invention provides a traffic jam detection method and device, electronic equipment and a storage medium, and belongs to the technical field of traffic management. The method comprises the following steps: collecting a video stream and storing the video stream as an image frame; inputting the image frame into a traffic jam detection model to obtain a traffic jam state and current traffic data; inputting the current traffic data into the discrete event simulation model, and generating a shunting strategy and a route planning suggestion; and sending the shunting strategy, the route planning suggestion and the traffic jam state to navigation equipment. According to the invention, the congestion condition can be accurately analyzed, and the traffic efficiency is improved.
