The invention relates to a multi-mode steering hydraulic system of a carrier and a control method.The system comprises a proportional multi-way valve and a steering hydraulic cylinder, and two working oil ports of the proportional multi-way valve are connected with a positive cavity and a negative cavity of the steering hydraulic cylinder in a one-to-one correspondence mode through a first positive cavity pipeline and a first negative cavity pipeline; a first forward cavity stop valve and a first reverse cavity stop valve are correspondingly arranged on the first forward cavity pipeline and the first reverse cavity pipeline, the first forward cavity pipeline and the first reverse cavity pipeline are correspondingly connected with a second forward cavity pipeline and a second reverse cavity pipeline, and the second forward cavity pipeline and the second reverse cavity pipeline are used for being connected with a steering signal hydraulic cylinder. A second positive cavity stop valve and a second negative cavity stop valve are correspondingly arranged on the second positive cavity pipeline and the second negative cavity pipeline, a piston rod of the steering hydraulic cylinder is connected with the steering pull rod through a steering arm, and the steering signal hydraulic cylinder is integrated on a traction rod assembly used for connecting a tractor and a carrier. The method has the advantages of being high in functionality, good in adaptability and high in reliability, and the method has the advantages of being simple in process and convenient to operate and control.
