The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a live image obtained by acquiring a road environment by a camera and an actual shooting distance of the camera; performing target identification on the live image, and extracting environment visibility information based on a target identification result and an actual shooting distance; wherein the environment visibility information comprises the definition of the first traffic facility and/or the visibility of the second traffic facility; wherein the first traffic facility is provided with characters; determining the safety level of the road environment according to the environment visibility information; and the accuracy of driving environment safety assessment is improved.
