The invention relates to a traffic accident congestion cause analysis method and device based on multi-dimensional data, and the method comprises the steps: carrying out the analysis of the multi-dimensional data from the subdivided fields, and from related departments, such as traffic police departments, garden bureau, road bureau, and the like, the factors which may affect the traffic, such as points prone to water accumulation, points prone to congestion, bridges, tunnels, culverts, and important traffic nodes; meanwhile, places which are large in human flow and traffic flow and possibly affect traffic are obtained from POI data of an internet map, and through analysis of the multi-dimensional data, traffic accident and congestion event causes such as high-incidence road section causes of accidents and congestion, time interval distribution rules, influence factor dense points and event frequent-incidence points are obtained; scientific data is provided for reducing potential traffic safety hazards.
