The collision energy absorbing member (11) is made of a steel plate having a tensile strength of 270-340 MPa and a plate thickness of 1.0-1.4 mm, and when a collision load is input from the outside in the vehicle width direction to the side surface of the side sill (3), the collision energy absorbing member (11) is deformed and absorbs collision energy after the side sill (3) deformed by the input collision load comes into contact with the collision energy absorbing member (11). Therefore, the load transmitted to the battery pack (5) is reduced.
本发明的车身侧部构造(1)具备沿车长方向延伸的下纵梁(3)、和配设在比下纵梁(3)靠车宽方向车内侧的电池包(5),在电池包(5)的车宽方向外周侧具有碰撞能量吸收部件(11),该碰撞能量吸收部件(11)朝向车宽方向车外侧设置为凸形状,并由拉伸强度为270MPa级以上340MPa级以下、且板厚为1.0mm以上1.4mm以下的钢板构成,在碰撞载荷从车宽方向车外侧输入到下纵梁(3)的侧面碰撞时,在因输入的碰撞载荷而变形的下纵梁(3)与碰撞能量吸收部件(11)接触后,碰撞能量吸收部件(11)变形而吸收碰撞能量,由此使传递到电池包(5)的载荷降低。
