A vehicle body side structure (1) according to the present invention is provided with: a side sill (3) formed by joining a side sill inner member (3a) and a side sill outer member (3b); a battery pack (5) disposed further toward the inside in the vehicle width direction than the side sill (3); and a floor cross member (7) extending in the vehicle width direction, the floor cross member (7) comprising a metal plate having a tensile strength of 1180 MPa or more, the end portion (7a) of the floor cross member (7) being disposed so as to cover the upper surface (3a2) without coming into contact with the side surface (3a1) of the side sill inner member (3a), and extending to and coming into contact with the joining surface portion (3d) of the side sill inner member (3a) and the upper end portion (3c) of the side sill outer member (3b), and the end portion (7a) of the floor cross member (7) being in contact with the joining surface portion (3d) of the side sill inner member (3a) and the upper end portion (3c) of the side sill outer member (3b) when a side collision occurs. After the lower side member outer member (3b) is deformed and crushed, the load input to the lower side member (3) is transmitted to the floor cross member (7) to reduce the load transmitted to the battery pack (5).
本发明所涉及的车身侧部构造(1)具备:下纵梁(3),通过下纵梁内部件(3a)与下纵梁外部件(3b)接合而成;电池包(5),配设于比下纵梁(3)靠车宽方向车内侧;以及地板横梁(7),沿车宽方向延伸设置,其中,地板横梁(7)由抗拉强度为1180MPa级以上的金属板构成,端部(7a)配设为覆盖上表面(3a2)而不与下纵梁内部件(3a)的侧面(3a1)抵接,并且延伸到下纵梁内部件(3a)与下纵梁外部件(3b)的上端部(3c)的接合面部(3d)并抵接,在侧面碰撞时,在下纵梁外部件(3b)变形而被压溃之后,使输入到了下纵梁(3)的载荷传递到地板横梁(7)来使传递到电池包(5)的载荷降低。
