The invention provides a vehicle crawling control method and device.The method comprises the steps that when a crawling function is activated, the braking depth, a braking hydraulic signal, the front vehicle distance, the front vehicle speed and the actual vehicle speed are obtained; determining a first crawling target vehicle speed according to the braking depth and the braking hydraulic signal; calculating a second crawling target vehicle speed according to the front vehicle distance and the front vehicle speed; determining a final crawling target vehicle speed according to the first crawling target vehicle speed and the second crawling target vehicle speed; calculating a target crawling torque according to the actual vehicle speed and the final crawling target vehicle speed; and performing corresponding crawling control on the own vehicle according to the target crawling torque. According to the method and device, crawling control can be automatically carried out, dependence on operation of a driver is reduced, and therefore potential safety hazards that the distance between the vehicle and the front vehicle is too close, and the rear-end collision accident risk is increased are avoided.
