According to the invention, the first compressor unit (5) has an outlet (6) which is connected in a fluid-conducting manner to an inlet (24) of the second compressor unit (19) by means of a branch line (10) such that a first partial flow (T1) of compressed air (L) output by the first compressor unit (5) is fed to the fuel cell (13) and a second partial flow (T2) of compressed air (L) output by the second compressor unit (19) is fed to the fuel cell (13). And a second partial flow (T2) of compressed air (L) output by the first compressor unit (5) is fed to the second compressor unit (19).
