The invention belongs to the technical field of cranes, and particularly relates to a crane control method and system, a crane and a machine readable storage medium, the control method comprises the steps that the oil cavity pressure of a crane boom variable-amplitude oil cylinder and gear information of an operating rod are obtained, and the operating rod can adjust the displacement of a hydraulic pump; the theoretical displacement of the hydraulic pump is determined according to the oil cavity pressure; the preset displacement of the hydraulic pump is determined according to the gear information; and the actual displacement of the hydraulic pump is controlled so that the actual displacement can be the smaller one of the preset displacement and the theoretical displacement. The crane can determine the theoretical displacement and the preset displacement of the hydraulic pump on the basis of obtaining the oil cavity pressure of the derricking oil cylinder of the cargo boom and the gear information of the operating lever, and the actual displacement of the hydraulic pump is the smaller one of the preset displacement and the theoretical displacement. Therefore, the displacement of the hydraulic pump is controlled so as to further control the amplitude variation speed of the amplitude variation oil cylinder, and the amplitude variation speed of the cargo boom is ensured to be within a reasonable range so as to avoid safety accidents.
