The invention discloses an anti-flooding method and system for an autonomous vehicle, and the method comprises the steps: calculating the nearest recommended highland position around the vehicle according to the height information of a high-precision map after the vehicle enters an anti-flooding mode; collecting information of accumulated water around the vehicle, and sending first early warning information of a level corresponding to the height of the accumulated water, images or videos around the vehicle and a recommended highland position to a cloud, so that the cloud verifies the first early warning information according to the images or videos around the vehicle; wherein the cloud is in communication connection with the user terminal; and if the accumulated water height is between the first threshold value and the second threshold value and a vehicle moving instruction of the user terminal is received, the vehicle is automatically driven to a safe position indicated by the vehicle moving instruction. In the application, the vehicle determines whether to automatically drive the vehicle to the safe position according to the accumulated water height and the user instruction, so that the vehicle moving decision is matched with the accumulated water information, and the accuracy of vehicle control is improved on the premise of ensuring the safety of the vehicle.
