The steering control system comprises a filtering module (103) configured to determine a first rate of change limit based on a parameter for orienting the lift arm, and to generate a rotation indication signal (D, E) based on the rotation request signal such that a rate of change of the rotation indication signal does not exceed the first rate of change limit.
