A mobile terminal system includes equipment for establishing a terminal station having at least one landing station sized and shaped to accommodate an autonomous vehicle in a fleet. The control subsystem determines that the autonomous vehicle in the fleet is entering the established terminal site. After determining the inbound autonomous vehicle, a landing instruction is determined that indicates a landing stage in which the inbound autonomous vehicle is to park and a route along which the inbound autonomous vehicle is to travel to reach the landing stage. A seating instruction is provided to the incoming autonomous vehicle. The landing command causes the entering autonomous vehicle to travel to the landing platform along the route.
