The invention discloses an AGV steering wheel control system and method based on permanent magnet motor field weakening control, the system comprises a signal receiving end, a processing module and a steering wheel control end, the steering wheel control end is installed on an AGV, and the steering wheel control end comprises a steering control module and a translation control module; the receiving end is used for receiving and analyzing the control signal to obtain a translation signal and a steering signal, and the receiving end sends the translation signal and the steering signal to the processing module; the processing module comprises a first sub-module, a second sub-module and a third sub-module; and the AGV steering wheel only needs to be provided with a signal receiving and feedback function, so that the difficulty of an AGV steering wheel adaptation algorithm is reduced.
