The invention discloses a ship propeller shaft horizontal lapping-in installation method which specifically comprises the following steps: S1, obtaining machining size information of a propeller shaft cone part, measuring the machining size of the propeller shaft cone part, and machining the machining size which does not meet the requirement; s2, in the dock building stage of the ship, a propeller shaft is installed in a ship stern tube bearing, and then a propeller is hoisted to the stern; the propeller is pre-installed on the propeller shaft cone part through a chain block or a hydraulic installation trolley; s3, a hydraulic nut is pre-installed on a propeller shaft on the outer side of the propeller, and in the horizontal state of the propeller shaft, grinding-in of the propeller shaft and a propeller taper hole is conducted; and S4, after grinding-in of the propeller shaft and the propeller taper hole is completed, a hydraulic nut is installed through a hydraulic oil cylinder, and installation of the propeller shaft is completed. According to the method, the propeller and the propeller shaft are horizontally ground and installed, the situation that the propeller needs to be turned over in an inner field or an outer field is avoided, a special tool does not need to be used, the working time and cost for grinding the propeller and the propeller shaft in the inner field are saved, and the ship building period is shortened.
