The invention relates to a DC contactor arrangement for bi-directional power switching. The DC contactor arrangement comprises a DC + contactor (202, 302) for connecting the power source (112) with the load (114), a DC-contactor (204, 304) for connecting the power source (112) with the load (114). At least one of the DC + contactors (202, 302) or the DC-contactors (204, 304) is a unidirectional DC contactor (202, 204); and the DC + contactor and the DC-contactor are configured to be switched at different times when the DC + contactor (202, 302) and the DC-contactor (204, 304) are under load.
