The present disclosure provides motor speed dependent variable frequency pulsation torque control for an electric machine. Systems and methods for commanding an electric drive system of an electric or hybrid vehicle are described. In one example, the drive system is commanded by a controller that supplies a pulsation torque command whose frequency varies according to an electric machine speed when a driver of the vehicle requests a constant driver demand torque.
