The embodiment of the invention provides a vehicle braking energy recovery method and device.The method comprises the steps that in response to a braking request received by a vehicle, the current driving working condition of the vehicle is determined, and the current driving working condition is one of the linear driving working condition, the conventional turning driving working condition and the limit turning driving working condition; determining a braking energy recovery strategy matched with the current driving working condition; based on the braking energy recovery strategy, regenerative braking torque and mechanical braking torque required by each wheel of the vehicle are determined; and a hub motor regenerative braking system of the vehicle is controlled to conduct braking according to the regenerative braking torques, and an electronic mechanical braking system of the vehicle is controlled to conduct braking according to the mechanical braking torques. According to the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention, the braking energy recovery efficiency can be improved.
