The method comprises the following steps: determining the maximum detection distance of a lane line of a target lane according to the vehicle speed and the advance time amount of a vehicle; wherein the target lane represents the lane where the vehicle is located; performing curvature calibration processing according to the current curvature, the curvature change rate and the maximum detection distance of the lane line of the target lane to obtain a calibration curvature of the lane line of the target lane; determining the maximum calibration curvature in the calibration curvatures corresponding to the lane lines on the two sides of the target lane, and determining the maximum calibration curvature as the calibration curvature of the target lane; performing threshold value calculation processing according to the calibration curvature of the target lane and the transverse acceleration of the vehicle to obtain a speed threshold value of the vehicle running on the target lane; and controlling the speed of the vehicle according to the speed threshold value. According to the invention, the rationality of vehicle speed control can be improved, so that the user experience of a driver is improved.
