The invention discloses a power system for driving power switching and stepless speed change of a rack rail vehicle, the rack rail vehicle transmits driving force from a driving wheel assembly to a driven wheel assembly through a transmission belt, grooves which are formed in the radial direction and are adjustable in width are formed in the driving wheel assembly and the driven wheel assembly correspondingly, and the driving wheel assembly and the driven wheel assembly are connected with the rack rail vehicle through the transmission belt. The circumferential radius of the transmission belt on the driving wheel assembly and the driven wheel assembly is adjusted by adjusting the width of the groove, and continuous change of the transmission ratio is achieved. The driven wheel assembly is designed into an inner wheel and an outer wheel which can rotate independently, the inner wheel is fixedly connected with a steel wheel shaft, the outer wheel is fixedly connected with a rack rail gear, a transmission belt is arranged on the inner wheel or the outer wheel by adjusting the width of a groove, and coaxial power switching between axle steel rail driving and gear rack rail driving is achieved; a large transmission ratio is adopted on a large-ramp rack rail section to transmit large torque to increase traction force, and a small transmission ratio is adopted on a straight road or a small-ramp adhesion section to transmit large rotating speed to increase running speed.
