The invention relates to a remote control method for a handheld charging terminal, and the method comprises the steps: transmitting an interaction signal to a lane peripheral through the charging terminal, packaging the interaction signal into an HTTP request message, and transmitting the HTTP request message to a lane peripheral control system; the lane peripheral control system initiates identity verification information to the charging terminal, and after the charging terminal passes the identity verification information, the lane peripheral control system sends out a control instruction; the lane peripheral receives the control instruction and makes a corresponding control action, and the control action comprises lifting a rod and adjusting induction screen information in combination with an intelligent program; and the execution condition of the control action is fed back to the charging terminal, and related control information is stored in a lane peripheral control system. Communication between the handheld toll collection terminal and the lane peripheral control system is achieved, the toll collection process is more flexible and efficient, and meanwhile the problem that the toll collection terminal is difficult to automatically adjust the information of the induction screen according to the road traffic condition, and consequently the induction work efficiency is low is solved.
