An electric vehicle acceleration control system includes: a motor configured to drive wheels of an electric vehicle; a steering wheel configured to steer wheels of the electric vehicle; an accelerator pedal adjacent to the steering wheel; and a vehicle control module configured to, in response to detecting activation of the accelerator pedal: set a target speed value; determining an average acceleration value reaching the target speed value; obtaining a stored torque profile from the target speed value and the average acceleration value, the stored torque profile including a specified torque value for each of the plurality of speed breakpoints; and controlling the motor by commanding the specified torque value at each of the plurality of speed breakpoints.
